Ann B. McClain, age 81, of Smyrna, Delaware, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, March 9, 2018.
Mrs. McClain was born on May 5, 1936, in Dover, Delaware, the daughter of the late Walter F. Bishop and Rachel M. (Shahan) Bishop.
She graduated from Caesar Rodney High School, class of 1954 and continued to organize class events and gatherings, which she enjoyed.
She was a wonderful loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, aunt, and sister who adored her family more than anything. Ann also enjoyed her time working in the garden and was an excellent cook. She never missed a day feeding the birds and her “chippies.”
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by siblings, Elizabeth, John, Robert, Isaac, Doris, and Pat; her nephew, Bobby; and her niece, Donna.
She is survived by her loving husband of 60 years, James W. McClain; her daughter, Vickie (Marc) of Smyrna; her grandchildren, Jeffrey (Andrea), Jamie (Randy), Jesse (Blaire), and Jillian (William); ten great grandchildren; her brother, Jesse (Joan); her sister, Betty Lou (Rock); and extended family.
A viewing will be held on Sunday, March 18, 2018 from 1 to 3 pm and again on Monday, March 19, 2018 from 11:30 am to 12:30 pm in the Faries Funeral Chapel, located at 29 South Main Street in Smyrna.
Funeral services will begin at 12:30 pm on Monday with burial following at the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Bear, Delaware.
