Ann J. Williams, age 76, of Smyrna, DE passed away on Wednesday, September 13, 2017 surrounded by her loved ones.
Mrs. Williams was born in Salisbury, MD, the daughter of Henry and Pauline Jones.
She attended Asbury United Methodist Church in Smyrna.
After graduating from Delmar High School, Ann attended Salisbury University and Goldey Beacom Business School.
As a military wife for 22 years, Mrs. Williams accompanied her husband during his career in the U.S. Army, living at numerous military Army posts, including Germany. The military assignments involved moves from coast to coast.
She worked for the Department of Defense for 25 years of which 21 years were spent working at the Dover Air Force Base as an Administrative Assistant and she was with the 326th Airlift Squadron for 12 years.
She lived at Garrison Lake Golf Course and had a passion for playing golf. She was active in the Women’s Association and served on the board as chairman, co-chairman, and secretary.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Lt. Col. Wayne R. Williams in 2001.
She is survived by her dear companion Tom Massimini; two sons and daughters-in-law, Chet and Susan Williams of Cockeysville, MD and Darin and Deana Williams of Fruitland, MD; five grandchildren, Chet Williams, Jr., Taylor Williams, Kayla Williams, Brett Williams and Madison Williams.
A visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 20, 2017 from 9 am to 11 am in the Faries Funeral Chapel, located at 29 S. Main Street in Smyrna. Funeral services will begin at 11 am. Burial will follow at the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Bear, DE.
The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the St. Stephens United Methodist Church, 100 E. State Street, Delmar, DE 19940.
