Daniel Joseph Haines, Sr., affectionately known to his friends as family as “Danny”, passed away on Monday, September 3rd, 2018, at the young age of 32 years. Danny will be lovingly remembered by his soul mate of 13 years, Kady Keeler, and four beautiful children, Kaylee (13), Daniel Jr. (10), Jackson (5), and Kaleb (3). He will also be fondly remembered by his mother Kathy, his stepfather Victor (Smith), his father Harry-David, his brother Alex, his uncle Christopher and aunt Michelle, his aunt Cathy (Idell) and uncle George, his cousins Robbie (Fox) and Genevieve, and his sole surviving grandparent Odette (aka “Nanny”). Danny was also loved dearly by a host of nieces, nephews, sister/brother in laws, aunts/uncles, and cousins along with a multitude of close friends.
Danny was born in Mt. Holly, NJ on April 25, 1986 and spent most of his childhood in NJ. Danny excelled in most sports he played, but none more than martial arts where he competed in the 1994 National Championships in New Orleans, LA, placing 2nd in Bo Staff. He later moved to Delaware, where he met Kady and began building a family together. Danny spent his lifetime career in construction, most recently employed by Hufford’s Construction. He was a loving and doting father, with a huge heart and a beaming smile. All that have crossed Danny’s path will miss him immensely.
Visitation and a funeral service will be conducted between 2-4pm at Faries Funeral Home, 29 S. Main St, Smyrna, DE, with the service beginning at 4pm, with Pastor Alan Ryman officiating.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to a GoFundMe fundraiser under the title “Haines Family Tragedy”(https://www.gofundme.com/haines-family-tragedy) that has been established to help ease the burden on his family due to his untimely death.
