Delorise Ann Dillon (Chronister) was born to Ezra and Sara Chronister on September 4, 1937, in McCallister, Oklahoma, and was the first born of many siblings.  At age 81, Ann passed away suddenly from medical complications on Saturday, June 22, 2019, surrounded by her loved ones.  Delorise preferred Ann, Grandma, or Gma and lived a full life.

At 17, Ann married Dewey L. Dillon who was active in the United States Military (Air Core/Air Force).  Ann spent a number of years traveling with her beloved husband and three children as an USAF mother and spouse having the opportunity to live in a number of places to include Nebraska, Japan, Hawaii, and California, finally settling in Delaware in 1981.

Ann enjoyed quilting, coffee, playing cards, putting puzzles together, watching the news, and spending time with her family, friends, and pets.  She was a giving, loving, and spunky woman who helped countless family, friends, and those in need over her lifetime.  She is Grandma to the masses and the matriarch of her family.  Gatherings were not gatherings without her.  Her absence from this earth leaves an emptiness in the hearts of many.

Ann joins her beloved husband, parents, and other family members in eternity and is survived by one brother, Donnie Dunn and sister Janice Phorpho; her children, George Dillon, Betty Jacome, Lori Alberts, and Cheryl Elmore (adopted in); her grandchildren Michael Dillon, Heather Hamlett, Stacie Bohannon, Michelle Dillon, Sherri Dillon, John Dillon, Sabrina Alberts, Adam Alberts, Tina Ford, William Forster, and Christopher Forster.  She is also survived by a host of great and great-great grandchildren, her dear friends Country Boy and Rosie Distler, and her cat George.

A private burial will be held on Monday, July 1, 2019, at 11:00AM at the Delaware Veteran’s Memorial Cemetery in Bear, DE, where Grandma will be laid to rest next to her beloved husband Dewey L. Dillon.
