James "Ronnie" Goddard, age 66 of Hartly, Delaware, passed away on Tuesday, July 23, 2019 at his home surrounded by his loving family.

Mr. Goddard was born on February 10, 1953 in Quebec, Canada, the son of the late Remond and Jeannette Goddard.

Ronnie was a carpenter by trade as a young man, until owning his own business, ACKRA Contractors for 30+ years. He loved being surrounded by his family and friends and having a cold beer. 

He also enjoyed going to the casino, fishing, and watching golf, Jeopardy and Wheel of Fortune.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Paul Goddard; his wife, Jacqueline Goddard; his son, Joseph Godard; his ex-wife, Linda Jarvis; and his beloved dog, Goose. 

He is survived by his daughter, Victoria L. Holderman and her husband Damien of Hartly, DE; step-daughter, Roxanna M. Parrish and her husband Bill of Camden, DE; step-daughter, Peggy S. Mitchell and her husband Mitch of Newark, DE; and step-daughter, Lea Deana K. Cales of WV; Brittney N. Jarvis of Hartly, DE, whom he thought of as a daughter; his step-son, Kermit Keith Cales and his wife Debbie of FL;  17 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren. He is also survived by his sister, Paulette Goddard; his brothers, Poncho Goddard, Richard Goddard, Mark Goddard, and Reggie Goddard; as well as many other close friends.

A visitation will be held on Friday, July 26, 2019 from 5pm to 7pm in the Faries Funeral Chapel, with the Memorial Service at 7pm located at 29 South Main Street in Smyrna, DE. Please bring a written story/special memory to share with the family to be added to a memory book.

Burial will be privately held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Ronnie’s name may be sent to the Compassionate Care Hospice, 20165 Office Circle, Georgetown, DE 19947.

Arrangements are by Faries Funeral Home and Crematorium.
