John H. Cook “Bo,” age 88, of Clayton, Delaware passed away on Wednesday, February 21, 2018.
Mr. Cook was born on December 5, 1929 in Dover, Delaware, the son of the late Herman Cook and Florence (Carey) Cook.
He worked on his family’s farm for years before starting his own excavating company with his son Guy, John H. Cook & Son. Together, they operated the company for over 50 years, which is still thriving today.
John worked hard his whole life and treated everyone fair.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Marie Cook; and his granddaughter, Crystal Lynn Johnson.
He is survived by his son, Guy Cook and his wife Betty of Clayton, Delaware; his daughter, Dale Dittman of Clayton; two granddaughters, Amy Dittman and Betty M. Cook, both of Clayton; two grandsons, John R. Cook and Harry Dittman, Jr., both of Clayton; and three great grandchildren.
A viewing will be held on Tuesday, February 27, 2018 from 10 am to 12 pm in the Faries Funeral Chapel, located at 29 South Main Street in Smyrna. Funeral services will begin at 12 pm.
Burial will follow at Odd Fellows Cemetery in Smyrna.
