Joseph Patrick Henry, “Pat,” age 62, of Clayton, DE went home to be with the Lord, surrounded by his loving family on Friday, June 9, 2017.
He was born on October 6, 1954, in Portland, OH, the son of the late Elizabeth (Betty) Meade.
Pat was a Master Craftsman in woodworking and was the well-respected owner Henry’s Custom Woodworks, which he owned and operated with his wife Denise for over 30 years.
Pat grew up on the Maryland Eastern Shore having lived in Baltimore, Pasadena and Annapolis, where he met his best friend and wife Denise. They married on July 9, 1977 and eventually made their home in Clayton, DE, where they raised their two children, Michael and Tina.
Outside of his passion for woodworking, he loved to be on the water, out in the woods or at a bluegrass festival camping, photography and playing music with his wife. He was a member of the American Legion, Post 14 of Smyrna, DE.
In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Edward and William Henry; and his uncle, Bill Meade and his aunt, Mary Meade.
He is survived by his loving wife, Denise; his children, Michael Saltarelli and his wife Jennifer of Magnolia, DE and Tina Oddo and her husband Tim of Cumming, GA; his grandchildren who he loved dearly, Taylor Oddo and her boyfriend Bryan Dye of Summerville, SC, Michael Saltarelli, IV and his fiancée Heather Campbell of Magnolia, Peyton Oddo of Cumming, and Jocelyn and Anthony Saltarelli, also of Magnolia; and a host of extended family members.
A viewing will be held on Monday, June 12, 2017 from 6 pm to 8 pm in the Faries Funeral Chapel, located at 29 S. Main St. in Smyrna, DE. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, June 13, 2017 at 12 pm, where family and friends may call one hour prior to the services.
Burial will follow at Glenwood Cemetery in Smyrna.
