Lawrence W. Cherry known as “Cherry” passed away peacefully at the Pinnacle Rehabilitation & Health Center on Saturday November 24, 2018.
Lawrence Cherry was born to the late Georgianna Cherry on September 4 1950 in the town of Portsmouth, Virginia.
Cherry was a very hard working man. He started working for B F Diamond Construction over 46 years ago as a pile driver. He moved on, in the heavy construction business with The Hardaway Company where he helped build bridges from Georgia all the way up the east coast to Delaware. He moved to Delaware in 1992 with The Hardaway Company building the Rt1 bypass. He finished his pile driving career with Kuhn Construction of Hockessin Delaware.
Cherry was a kind and good hearted man who enjoyed bowling, playing Lottery, watching football and golf on TV, and visiting with friends.
He is preceded in death by his loving mother and four brothers.
He leaves behind his best friend Larry Dulany, and his good buddy Allen Phelps both of Delaware. Lawrence Cherry touched many lives in his 68 years of life and he will be sorely missed.
