Lee Roy Wright, Sr., age 74 of Clayton, Delaware, passed away at home surrounded by his family on Tuesday, February 27, 2018.
He was born July 17, 1943 in Earlville, Maryland, the son of the late Herbert Wright and Ethel Mae (Biddle) Wright.
Lee Roy worked at the Mill and drove truck over the road.
He liked to socialize, shoot pool, fish, watch baseball and enjoyed wrestling. He always watched old Westerns.
Lee Roy always loved having the grand and great grandkids around, he enjoyed his time with them.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Nathan Porter Wright, James “Butch” Wright, Dallas Douglas “Tink” Wright, Robert “Bob” Wright, Jim “Salty Dog” Wright, and Webster “Bud” Wright; and his sister, Catherine (Wright) Holden.
He is survived by his children, Georgianna Savin (Bill) of Clayton, Delaware, Virginia Ellis of Marydel, Delaware, Lee Roy Wright, Jr. of Clayton, Delaware, Ann Carter (Paul) of Clayton, Delaware, Esther Hurtado Chavez (Alan) of Church Hill, Maryland, and Dillon Wright of Newark, Delaware; 13 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; and 2 on the way. He is also survived by his brother, Wilbert “Boots” Wright of Middletown, Delaware; and his sister, Alberta (Wright) Schuyler of Clayton, Delaware.
A viewing will be held on Sunday, March 4, 2018 at 1 pm in the Faries Funeral Chapel, located at 29 South Main St. in Smyrna. Funeral services will begin at 2 pm. Burial will be private.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to the American Cancer Society.
