Sharon Ingram White-Deputy, age 75, of Smyrna, Delaware, passed away peacefully at her home on Friday, December 28, 2018.
She was born on August 1, 1943 in New Jersey, the daughter of the late Harry and Helen White.
Sharon retired from both the DuPont Company and Computer Science Company in Wilmington, Delaware after many years of service.
She was an accomplished sheet shooter with the DuPont Skeet Shooters Club and was a member of the US Trotting Association, was a licensed harness racing judge at Brandywine Raceway and Dover Downs and had numerous harness racing horses throughout the East Coast. One of her horses was well known “Pacific Illusion” that was trained by her trainer Wayne Givens of Seaford, Delaware, who trained all of her horses.
As a young person, Sharon was proud of her equestrian skills used in competitive barrel racing.
Sharon served on committees with the Association of Retired Delaware State Police and was an avid sports fan and had a genuine love for animals and nature.
Sharon is survived by her husband of 11 years, Raymond E. Deputy; her sister, Shelia Stocks of Delco, North Carolina; and many extended family members.
Memorial services will be held on Thursday, January 3, 2019 at 11am at the Delaware State Troopers Association located at 6349 North DuPont Highway, Cheswold, Delaware 19936.
Sharon was a long-time corporate member of the Delaware State Police Museum. The family is requesting that memorial contributions in her memory be sent to the DSP Museum, PO Box 430, Dover, DE 19904.
