Alice Marie Riley, age 81, of Melbourne, Florida, formerly of Smyrna, Delaware, passed away on Friday, March 23, 2018.

Mrs. Riley was born on October 24, 1936 in Delaware City, Delaware. In 1953, she married the love of her life Francis D. Riley. Marie worked as a Dispatcher/Operator for most of her life, retiring in 1999.

During her life, she enjoyed sewing, painting, wood crafting with her husband, cooking, thrifting, and reading. After retirement, Marie enjoyed traveling all over the world. She visited many countries throughout Europe, South America, The Caribbean, and The United States including her favorite vacation to Alaska. In her 70’s, she fell in love with zip lining and parasailing.  At the age of 79, Marie opened up her own Antique Shop.

Marie was humble and kind and was a loving mother. She was loved by all who knew her.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Francis; her brother, Sherman “Butch” Morrow; and her sister, Sherri Morrow; her parents, Sherman Morrow and Alice Traynor; and her family who raised her, Bucky and Ada Worley.

Marie is survived by her children, Jeanne Blackstone and her husband Jim of Middletown, Delaware, Michael Riley and his wife Dina of Melbourne, Florida, and Kathleen Wooster and her husband Bob of New Castle, Delaware; her grandchildren, best friend-Mackenzie Armstrong and her husband Shaun, and Karlee, Austin and Logan Riley, Tyler Preston and his wife Taylor, and Branden Barbacano; four great grandchildren, Madison, Peyton, Kellan, and Eloise; her brothers, Wayne, Bruce and Herbie Morrow, and Kenny Worley.

A viewing will be held on Monday, April 2, 2018 from 11 am to 12:30 pm in the Faries Funeral Chapel, located at 29 South Main Street in Smyrna. Funeral services will begin at 12:30 pm.

Burial will follow at the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Bear, Delaware.
