Robert M. Timblin Owner, Funeral Director, Certified Crematory Operator

Rob was born on a USAF Airbase in Turkey and grew up in the Lake Forest School District area after his father retired from the Air Force. Rob is a graduate of Lake Forest High School (1987) and a graduate of Wesley College in Dover with a B.S. in Environmental Sciences (1993). Rob worked as a Chemist for the Delaware Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Control for 12 years before answering the Faries family call to join the funeral home in 2004.

Rob is married to Alison M. Timblin, who is a 7th generation Faries family member. Together they have two daughters, Camaryn and Carly and reside in Clayton. He graduated from the Pittsburgh Institute of Mortuary Sciences (2008) and has been a licensed funeral director since 2009. Rob and Alison purchased the funeral home in June (2018) to continue the long-standing Faries family owned funeral home.

Rob is a member of Trinity Church of Smyrna and the Smyrna-Clayton Rotary Club where he earned Club Rotarian of the Year (2014 & 2015). Rob enjoys recreational sports, attending his daughters sporting events, watching movies, and short stay family vacations and trips.

Fun fact about Rob: He has an extensive collection of Marvel and DC action figures, otherwise known as his “Man-Barbies” by his wife and daughters!

Alison M. Timblin Owner, Office Manager

Alison was born in Dover and was constantly around the funeral home throughout her childhood. She is the granddaughter of Wells A. Faries, Sr., who was the 5th generation direct line descendant of the original owner. She is also the niece of Wells A. Faries, Jr. (6th generation direct line descendant).

Alison graduated from Dover High School (1992) and attended Wilmington College. She worked for several years in the banking and finance industry before joining the funeral home. Alison is a member of Trinity Church of Smyrna and is very active with her children’s school related activities and sports. She is an avid collector of antiques ranging from unique furniture pieces to historical porcelain signs and rare finds. Alison is the proud owner of 3 horses, 3 donkeys, and enjoys spending time in the stable and pastures with them.

Fun fact about Alison: She graciously lets Rob think that he’s in charge but anyone who knows her will tell you that she’s the boss!

Rev. Scot McClymont Aftercare Services Coordinator

Rev. McClymont has many years of multi-generational Pastoral experience including helping with children, youth, and young adults. He was the Youth Director at Asbury United Methodist Church (UMC) in Smyrna from 2003-2007, Pastor at Kenton UMC (2005-2013), Director of Youth People’s Ministry for the Peninsula-Delaware Conference of the UMC (2013-2016), Chaplain of Wesley College in Dover (2015-2016), Pastor of Zion and White’s Chapel UMC in Milton (2016) and is the current Pastor of 4 The World Ministries, Inc. of Smyrna (2016-present).

Scot has a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from Delaware State University (2011), a Master of Divinity (M.Div.) degree from Wesley Theological Seminary (2014), and completed one unit of Chaplaincy at Christiana Care Health Systems in Wilmington (2013).

Scot was also a member of the Smyrna District School Board for many years.

He and his wife, Dawn, have lived in the Smyrna-Clayton area since 1997. They have two sons, Anthony and Evan, and two dogs, Buster and Dexter.

Fun fact about Scot: He’s a huge Batman fan and can be seen sporting the full Batman attire while riding on his modified “Batcycle” through town in the parades!

Richard H. Dowell Funeral Assistant

Rich grew up in New Castle and is our longest tenured Funeral Assistant, joining the funeral home in 2004.

 

Rich was the Valedictorian of his high school class, Fairwinds Christian School of Bear (1984). Rich has spent over 30 years working in the building supply industry. He and his wife owned Heart of Smyrna Gift Shop from 2005-2010.  Rich is a member of Lifehouse Church of Smyrna.

 

His children are both graduates of Smyrna High School. He lives in Clayton with his wife, Ann Marie and daughter, Meghan. In his free time, you can usually find him at an athletic game, rooting for the Smyrna Eagles.

 

Fun fact about Rich: Rich and Ann’s son, Dario is now a father, which makes him a proud grandfather, a point we use to showcase his advanced age!

Gordon L. Gelley Funeral Assistant

Gordon grew up in Middletown, Delaware, where he went to Middletown High School and the University of Delaware.

 

Gordon retired from the Postal Service after 35 years of service and owned a flavored popcorn business for more than 8 years. He has been involved in Little League baseball for over 30 years. Gordon is the current President of the Smyrna-Clayton Little League, a position which he’s held more than a decade. Gordon has been a loyal employee of the funeral home since 2009.

 

Fun fact about Gordon: He’s a die-hard “Parrot-Head/Jimmy Buffett” fan, though it’s widely speculated that he grew up during the Lawrence Welk era!

S. Bruce Holman Funeral Assistant

Bruce was born in Wilmington and raised in Maryland. Bruce graduated from Bohemia Manor High School (1981) and further attended Cecil Community College in Hotel & Restaurant Management.

 

He retired after 25 years in the Hotel & Restaurant industry holding many positions in management during those years. Bruce is very proud of his accomplishments during those times. He currently works for the Smyrna School District.

 

Bruce joined the funeral home in 2017 after his retirement and his experience with customer interactions during his years of Management is a great asset to the funeral home.

 

Bruce is a devoted Philadelphia Eagles fan and likes spending time together with his daughters.

John J. Trabaudo Funeral Assistant

John was born in Wilmington and migrated with his family to Smyrna over 50 years ago. John is a graduate of Smyrna High School (1980) where he played Quarterback for the football team and a graduate of the University of Delaware with a B.S. in Criminal Sciences. He currently works for the Department of Technology and Information and hopes to retire within the next 2 years.

 

He and his wife Lisa have two daughters, Annalisa and Reece. They also have a young grandson named Arlo, which happens to be the joy of John's life, first only to his dog Merc.

 

When you can't find him on a golf course, John's passions are building hotrods, working on his friends cars, and being the assistant varsity volleyball coach for Smyrna High School.

 

Fun fact about John: He once trew 4 touchdown passes in one game, in the fog, against Rob's alma mater Lake Forest!

Camaryn A. Timblin Certified Crematory Operator, Funeral Assistant

Camaryn is the oldest daughter of Alison and Rob and aspires to become a funeral director someday to continue the Faries family tradition. She is an 8th generation Faries family member to work at the funeral home.

 

She graduated from Smyrna High School (2019) with honors. While in high school at Smyrna, Camaryn was a member of the National Honor Society, Varsity Cheer Squad and was chosen to cheer in the annual Delaware Blue/Gold Game (2019).

 

Camaryn was a competitive cheerleader since the age of 4 with Delaware Explosions (2005-2008) and TriState Athletics (2009-2017). She was part of the very 1st cheer team ever in Delaware to earn a National Bid in Orlando, Florida and she was also part of the very 1st cheer team ever in Delaware to earn a full paid bid to the same competition two years later.

 

 

Camaryn graduated from the University of Delaware in 2022 in only 3 & 1/2 years with honors, with a Bachelors Degree in Marketing. Camaryn is continuing to work at the funeral home to further her experience and development. Her career goal is to become a licensed funeral director and continue working in the family business.

 

Fun fact about Camaryn: She’s an avid animal lover and has amassed ownership in 5 dogs and 3 cats, despite her dad saying “NO” to each one!

Anthony S. Buscemi Funeral Assistant

Anthony is a Smyrna native and graduate from Smyrna High School, class of 2019, where he graduated #12 out of 299 in his class (top 5%). He played on the Soccer Team, Indoor Track & Field, and the Football Team. He was on the State Championship Football Team in 2016 and 2017. In High School, Anthony was in the Honor Society, helped with the Special Olympics of Delaware and was a member of the Business Professionals of America, where he went to Nationals two years in a row to Anaheim, California and Dallas, Texas for Small Business Management and Finance.

 

He graduated from Monmouth University with a Bachelors Degree in Business Administration in the spring of 2023, with concentrations in economics and finance. Anthony went to Monmouth University on a football scholarship and played four years of Divison 1 football.

 

He is the long-time boyfriend of Camaryn (since the 8th grade) and they are currently engaged to be married. Anthony plans to continue his education in Mortuary School and becoming a Funeral Director. 

 

Fun fact about Anthony: He and Camaryn first met in the neighborhood as 5 & 1/2 year olds and currently spends more time at the Timblin's residence than he does at his own home!

Carly A. Timblin Funeral Assistant

Carly is the youngest daughter of Alison and Rob and enjoys helping out at the funeral home. She is also an 8th generation Faries family member to work at the funeral home.

 

She is currently a Senior at Smyrna High School.

 

Carly is a competitive volleyball travel player and is in her 8th year of travel volleyball. She was also a two-year Captain of the Smyrna Middle School Volleyball Team, where she helped lead the team to a perfect 13-0 undefeated season and Central Delaware Middle School Volleyball Championship for the 2019 season! Carly also made the Varsity Team for Smyrna High School Volleyball as a Freshman! She is the starting Libero for Smyrna High School and earned 1st Team All Conference Honors and 3rd Team All State Honors! In the 2022 season, Carly led the team in digs and aces and helped lead Smyrna Girls Volleyball as the #1 ranked team in the State of Delaware, which was the 1st time in school history. Smyrna won the Henlopen Conference Championship and finished with a State best 14-1 regular season record and just fell a little short in the State Tournament in a tight match to eventual State Champs, Tower Hill. She is a co-Captain of the team for her senior year.

 

Carly is also a STATE CHAMPION as she helped lead the team to it's 1st State Championship in school history for the 2023 season. Smyrna Volleyball dominated the state in the 2023 season finishing with a state best record of 19-1 and finished the season thumping 12 time State Champion Ursuline in the finals!

 

Carly enjoys hanging out with her friends, swimming, shopping, and spending countless hours with her friends on the phone and is now a proud driver!

 

Fun fact about Carly: She is the great-great-great-great-great (yes, 5 greats in there) granddaughter of the original owner of the funeral home, Alexander Faries!

Landon L. Goff IT Tech and Computer Support Specialist

Landon has been helping the funeral home since 2015 when we started enlisting his IT expertise. Landon is almost always the first to receive a call when something isn't working right in the office.

 

Landon is a Smyrna native and currently resides in Dover. He graduated from Smyrna High School (2015), where he was especially active in the school's music program. He remains involved with the music program as a volunteer, in addition to composing new music for the band.

 

Landon is currently employed in Management with Del-One Federal Credit Union and enjoys all things technology, and is a Carolina Panthers fan.

 

Fun fact about Landon: He is 1st cousins with Detriot Lions Quarterback, Jared Goff, though he's never met him!
