Eldon J. LaCombe, age 65, of Smyrna, Delaware, peacefully passed away on Thursday, February 1, 2018 at the Delaware Hospice Center in Milford, Delaware.
He was born March 30, 1952 in St. Francis, Maine, the son of the late Alcide J. LaCombe and Mathilda M. (Brousseau) LaCombe.
Mr. LaCombe was proud of his French-Canadian heritage and the fact that the family spoke French fluently growing up.
Eldon served his country with Honor, retiring after over 20 years as a Civil Engineer in the United States Air Force. He also worked for many years as a Building Inspector for the Prince George’s County Government.
He loved Jesus, his family, the great state of Maine, fishing, camping, and the outdoors in general.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara J. LaCombe.
He is survived by his children, Carrie Willoughby and her husband Jamieson of Florida, Mary Constantino Rodriquez and her husband Victor, also of Florida, Bobby J. Blevins, III and his wife Katelyn of Maryland; five grandchildren; his siblings Hilda Malcom and her husband Florian, Cynthia Fleming and her husband Gary, Gisele Lee and her husband John, Diana Adams and her husband Lonnie, Robert LaCombe and his wife Sandra, Maurice LaCombe and his wife Sherry, and Gert Campbell and her husband Wayne, all of Maine.
Services will be privately held at the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Bear, Delaware on Friday, April 6, 2018.
