Janet V. Goldsborough, age 80, of Townsend, Delaware, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loved ones on Saturday, August 25, 2018.
Mrs. Goldsborough was born on September 9, 1937, in Townsend, the daughter of the late Elmer and Abbie (Jones) Goldsborough.
A graduate of Middletown High School, she retired as a Mail Clerk for New Castle County after many years of dedicated service.
Janet enjoyed the beach, dancing, and going out with her friends.
She attended modeling school in New York and was a former Miss Delaware contestant. Her beauty and talent landed her some roles on TV and in the movies. Her credits include roles in the movie “Rocky V”, and “Seeing is Believing” on TV.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her nephew, David Robinson.
Janet is survived by her sisters, Beatrice G. Robinson of Townsend, and Louise G. Parker of Seaford; her 1st cousin and best friend, H. Marie Robinson of Townsend; her dear friend of over 30 years, Betty Jean Bratton; her nieces and nephews; and her beloved cat, Snowball.
A viewing will be held on Friday, August 31, 2018 from 2 to 4 pm in the Faries Funeral Chapel, located at 29 South Main Street in Smyrna. Funeral services will begin at 4 pm. Burial will follow in Townsend Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to Faithful Friends Animal Society, 12 Germay Drive, Wilmington, DE 19804.
