Leona Catherine Scotton, age 65, of Smyrna, Delaware passed away on Wednesday, February 28, 2018.
Mrs. Scotton was born on December 19, 1952 at home, the daughter of the late William Herman Lowman and Grace P. (Hart) Slacum.
She retired from the State of Delaware, DHCI.
Leona centered her life around her family. Her family was everything to her. Her sons and her granddaughter were her pride and joy.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence Scotton, Jr.; her brothers, William Slacum and James Slacum; and her sister, Laura Mae McGuire.
She is survived by her two sons, Clarence Howard Scotton, III of Smyrna, Delaware and William James Scotton also of Smyrna, Delaware; her granddaughter, Gracie Scotton; her brother, Lloyd F. Slacum and his wife Sharon of Camden, Delaware; and many nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her extended family including her step-children, Edward Scotton and Melinda Vice.
A viewing will be held on Friday, March 9, 2018 from 11 am to 12 pm in the Faries Funeral Chapel, located at 29 South Main Street in Smyrna. Funeral services will begin at 12 pm.
Burial will follow at Sharon Hills Memorial Park in Dover, Delaware.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the funeral home to help defray funeral expenses.
